Trip to the Everglades

Yesterday, I made a trip down to the Everglades to see one of my college buddies, Matt. We went to the Everglades Safari Park to ride an air boat and see some reptiles. :) We definitely saw some of those! We had a great time and here are some of the pictures from our visit to the park!

This was the restaurant we ate at before we went on the air boat ride called The Barbecue Pit. It was really good BBQ.

If you are ever in the Everglades, we definitely recommend this place.

This was the alligator I saw in the water when I was waiting at the air boat place before I went and met Matt at the BBQ restaurant. While there was a fence around the water, this alligator is not in captivity. Crikey!!

And this was what we found when we got to the park!!

This was the first alligator we saw on the air boat ride.

It's amazing to me how camouflaged they are!

We saw quite a few of these cool looking birds on the lilly pads. They ran on top of the lilly pads.

We also went on a little walk-way where we could look at the different wildlife and this was an alligator hanging out right by the walk-way hoping someone will fall in.

As you can tell, we had a great time! And we saw LOTS of alligators. We were a little worried beforehand because people had left some reviews about how they didn't see alligators at this place. I guess people don't realize that this place can't control nature!

Just Some Pics of Us...Well, Mostly Logan.

Here are some random pictures of mostly Logan. He has really been putting his hands in his mouth lately, which is pretty cute. He's getting closer and closer to sucking his thumb and not just his whole hand. Logan had his shots yesterday and he was a definitely a trooper!! He is all back to normal and in a really good mood today. I think he's excited to watch basketball with Daddy while he's recovering from his sprained foot....guess that's the last time I try to exercise a little bit. Enjoy the pics!!

We call him Mr. Alligator.

He is apparently enjoying our lake (really just a big pond, but that is what they call them down here) and out for an afternoon swim.

These pictures of Mr. Alligator were taken yesterday, so I am not sure if he's planning on staying in the neighborhood or if he was just looking for some small dog to snack on! If he is looking, we sure have quite a few of them around here!! :)

Weekly Photos, Week 6 - Week 10!!!

Here are Logan's weekly photos all the way back from Week 6 through Week 10. Yes, can you believe it?? He was 10 weeks old yesterday! Which unfortunately, while it's exciting to see him get bigger and older, it means we will be going back to work soon. In fact, yesterday was Logan's first day of daycare. We are only going to have to put him in daycare 2 days a week because our next door neighbor/friend is going to take care of him 3 days a week. We are starting him early for daycare to get him (well, us) ready to start full time there in 2 weeks. It was really rough on all of us even though he was only there for 2 hours, but he did really well there! Well, here are the photos...I can't believe how much longer/bigger he is compared to 6 weeks old!!
