Logan is going to have surgery on both his eyes in the next few weeks. We found a GREAT dr. who was amazing with Logan and made us feel very at ease. He will be put to sleep for the procedure, which should take 30-60 minutes. The doctor said to expect that he'll need multiple surgeries to completely correct his crossed eyes, but we aren't clear if that's over the next few months, or over the next few years. In order for Logan's eyes to be as healthy as possible for the surgery, he has to wear an eye patch for 2 hours/day. When we asked Dr. Silverman how we could possibly keep an eye patch on a 1 yr old, he said to buy pool floaties and put them on his arms so he can't reach his eyes! Ugh- it was awful! Here are a couple pictures of our first eye patch adventure:

When we switched to a "pirate-style" patch, things went MUCH, much better! He kept it on for over an hour.. without the floaties! I thought Brad was ridiculous for buying it.. but I ended up having to tell him he was right. I hate it when that happens.

My Favorite Moment..

Jared got home from school early today (thanks for picking him up, Heidi!). When I got home with Logan, he was in front of the TV with his guitar. This is when my favorite mom moment began.. it was completely uncoerced and fortunately, caught on camera! It made me get tears in my eyes. I tend to worry about whether or not they will be close because they're so far apart in age. I guess this was God reassuring me that they'll be close.

Then Jared asked me to take some pictures of them like this.. I was happy to oblige. I love being their mom!

Jared's Last Drumline Performance

Today Jared's drumline performed during a combined Middle & Elementary School chapel. I apologize for the awful job I did recording- Logan was on my lap!

Logan was pretty proud of his big brother- he couldn't wait until after chapel to give him a hug! Logan wanted him as soon as he was finished drumming. Great job, Jared!!!! I will miss listening to you boys pound on trash cans!

Simple Things

Brad and Jared went to church tonight- I stayed home with a little boy who took a very short afternoon nap and is going to bed early.. :) Here are a few pictures of Logan playing with the cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels.. very fun! Questions to ponder: Why don't kids play with the toys we buy them?? Why don't we stop buying them toys because we know they won't play with them?? Hmmmm.....

Logan Getting Older!!

I cannot believe I am posting pictures of Logan trying to get out the front door! Notice the door is in the locked position! We pretty much have to lock all of our doors (especially Jared's door) if we don't want him coming in. There are also some pictures from Easter and then of Logan eating some food with a spoon!
