Logan is going to have surgery on both his eyes in the next few weeks. We found a GREAT dr. who was amazing with Logan and made us feel very at ease. He will be put to sleep for the procedure, which should take 30-60 minutes. The doctor said to expect that he'll need multiple surgeries to completely correct his crossed eyes, but we aren't clear if that's over the next few months, or over the next few years. In order for Logan's eyes to be as healthy as possible for the surgery, he has to wear an eye patch for 2 hours/day. When we asked Dr. Silverman how we could possibly keep an eye patch on a 1 yr old, he said to buy pool floaties and put them on his arms so he can't reach his eyes! Ugh- it was awful! When we switched to a "pirate-style" patch, things went MUCH, much better! He kept it on for over an hour.. without the floaties! I thought Brad was ridiculous for buying it.. but I ended up having to tell him he was right. I hate it when that happens.
