Weekend Trip to St. Augustine!

So here are some of the pictures from our trip to St. Augustine, FL. Saint Augustine is the oldest established city in the U.S. Jared and I went there last year on his field trip, but we figured this was a good place to take the family for our first EVER family vacation. Yes, we have gone with Logan to Indiana and Minnesota, but it's not quite the same when you don't have 10 extra people at all times ready and willing to hold Logan. It was quite the experience as we had a lot of fun, but it was also pretty tiring. Here are the pictures from our first day!!

Logan enjoying the ride so far.

Jared chillin...

Jared and Logie sharing a backseat moment together. Jared did very well sharing his backseat with Logan. Always before on road trips, Jared got the whole backseat to himself!

Jared giving his brother a kiss.

Us getting ready to go visit Castillo de San Marcos. Awesome place! http://www.nps.gov/casa/index.htm

The view from the one side of the Fort.

Cannon!

The entrance through the drawbridge.

The French Soldiers getting ready in the courtyard to fire off the cannon.

The soldiers made their way up to the top of the wall to fire the cannon. Jared and Janelle were up there to see the demonstration. Logan and I were outside of the fort trying to keep him from crying. At this point, we figured Logan wouldn't enjoy the big boom!

This is what Logan was doing outside with me! He just wanted to crawl everywhere. Apparently, he didn't enjoy being cooped up in the car for 4 hours that day as well as being held in the stroller right after we made it to St. Augustine.

View of the lighthouse across the river.

Logan was very happy to finally check into our room around 4:30 so that he could do some crawling.

He was also trying to figure out the TV remote.

Did I say Logan was happy to get out of the car??

He couldn't figure out what to check out next.

For dinner, we found this restaurant called Crackers BBQ.

It was a really cool place...it had a bunch of pictures of hunters/fisherman with their prized possessions. It also had some interesting animal skins on the walls.

I think Logan was trying to tell us he was hungry.

Logan is always good at restaurants until we get OUR food!

This was before I ate my 12 oz ribeye steak.

And after dinner, we attempted to put Logan to bed.

Logan was not interested in this part of our plan!

In fact, he took a 30 minute nap and then proceeded to stay up until 11pm!! Notice my cell phone in all of these pictures...he LOVES cell phones and would not put it down the entire night!

A Day At the Park.

Here are a few pictures from the past week. The first pictures are from the park by our house where I took Jared and Logan to play. Jared got to try out his new golf club while Logan got to play on the equipment. Logan LOVES swinging! Michael, a neighbor across the street, also came along for some fun. The last few pictures are from Logan crawling around with Janelle's bracelet that he loves to put in his mouth. Don't worry...He was only allowed to have it in his mouth for the pictures! :) Enjoy.

Pro Bowl Weekend...AKA Jared's Birthday Weekend!

For Jared's 14th Birthday this year, he only asked for one thing. This was surprising because for Christmas all he asked for was $$ for golf clubs. Jared wanted to go to the Pro Bowl in Miami! So Jared and I took a quick trip down to Miami Sunday morning to attend the Pro Bowl Fan Plaza. There was a lot of stuff to participate in! Jared did the extra point kick and the football toss where he had to try and throw the ball into a net. We also waited in line for 30 minutes to do a field goal kick before the worker informed us at the end of the line that we had to have a wrist band! Somehow Jared was able to perform the extra point kick without a wristband, but not the field goal kick. We were also standing in line for autographs for about 30 minutes when we found out the line reached really far around the parking lot and that the wait was about 2 hours. Luckily, Jared decided we should do the other stuff instead! The Pro Bowl Game was awesome! We had a great time even though it was drizzling off and on the whole game. The AFC won 41-34. We didn't quite make it for the kickoff as parking was crazy! We were sitting in our seats at exactly the point where the first TD was scored. All in all, it was a great weekend and I sure hope Jared had a great B-day!

Us standing in line waiting to get an autograph...until we decided it was too long of a wait!

Jared wearing a Vikings jersey.

Jared and I standing in front of the Lombardi Trophy. The actual Super Bowl Trophy!!

think these things were made more for kids, so they could stand behind and not be seen quite so much.

Jared standing in front of exact replicas of all of the Super Bowl rings worn by the players.

Jared's favorite quote!

Me standing in front of a football used for the last Super Bowl that the Colts played in 3 years ago!

The Touch Pass where Jared threw a football and "tried" to get it in the net.

And by "tried," I meant he didn't quite make it!

Jared enjoying the game.

Our view from our seats.

Jared's favorite player, Adrian Peterson, right in the middle of the screen.

Peyton Manning (in the red) sitting next to a bad, bad person (Drew Brees, from the Saints) , getting interviewed during halftime.

One of the many pictures Jared took of the cheerleaders.

Almost every time a player made a great play, this is what we saw all around the stadium. They showed the player's eyes..the player who did the play. It really freaked Jared out!

The quarterback from Houston, Matt Schaub, receiving the MVP trophy after the game.

The NFL network guys getting ready to go on air.

After the game, Jared and I went down closer to the NFL broadcast booth to get a better view.

Jared at our hotel the day after the Pro Bowl.

Jared talked me into going to a golf store so he could spend some of his B-day money....spend it he did!

For lunch on Monday, we stopped and ate at The Pit BBQ restaurant. I've eaten there once before and it's soooo good!
